Today on Jeopardy!

Meet
Ric, a really nice guy with from Miami
Hilary, a charming lassie from NYC
and Tania, a slightly giddy gal from North Pole.

All I can plead is that my brain got all excited and I messed up. But it was fun.

And now I can sing along with the Weird Al song in a completely sincere manner.

ETA - I'm taller than both the other players. You stand on boxes of various heights to even things out for the cameras and so shrimpy people don't get lost behind the podium. I'm the only person not on a box in the show, because, yes, I am a giant among men and women.... Bwahahahahaha!

I have no way to record television, and I have a school board meeting tonight. :(

I've never looked for Jeopardy episodes on bitorrent sites before, but in this case, I might have to do just that...

Congrats on being on the show!!!

Hah! I'm taller than Paul Newman and Yul Brynner! Can you say the same?

And did you know that Trebec once appeared in X-files as one of the Men inBlack?

I just looked up when and where Jeopardy was on around here.

And told my grandmother. So we'll be watching, assuming we all don't lose track of time.

(PS I can't spell Jeopardy. Thank goodness for spell check.)

Hey, to even get on the show is impressive. And two people from your class have been on Jeopardy. Wow. But not your mom and dad.

WOooot! I'm totally gonna watch it!

Good luck in a weird past/future tense sort of way! :) You're a kagillionaire aren't you and you can't tell anyone.

I just finished watching. I thought you did really well. Wager a bit differently, and you could have been the winner. You should be proud of how you did.

OH NOES! Ther iz a Tania got out of my internets and iz in my tee vee machine!

Tan-ia! Tan-ia! Tan-ia!

Oh, and Vince: WTF? Most of us watch in normal after-dinner, real American time slots. That better not be a spoiler, ya bonehead.

Yay Tanya!

Grandmom said you did really well--and none of us guessed the dead ex-queen either.

Stupid Henry the 8th!

And you would so get along with my family, height wise! You could join in looking down on me. :)

I think you did awesome. I guessed Anne Bolin, so I would have lost too. ;)

So what, they just make you stand there and smile for a minute while the credits roll? How uncomfortable.

Gah! Bummer. Well-played, overall, though. Afraid that ending was my fault. I was sitting here screaming "Catherine Parr!" at the tee vee and must have thrown you off your game across the space-time continuum. Sorry.

Well Vince gave me a play by play in my blog comments and GF gave me a complete rundown when I got home. She says you have beautiful read hair. And yeah, on the tall thing.

I totally had no answer for that Final Jeopardy question...but from the category, I'd have bet a dollar...on the Don't Pass line. (If you're not a craps player, that means betting against the player to get the point.) I know that I don't know shit about Royalty.

Nathan said...

Oh, and she said you did really well most of the show. That part was important!

Cool! Tania, I'm watching it right now and you look Great!

But - I see you didn't go for my strategy, which would have been to see just how large of negative balance I could have run up ;)

Woo hoo Tania! You did awesome. Definitely came across as a brainy and poised contestant.

Bryan did know the Henry's wife question - but that's b/c he's a British history nut with a full collection of Allison Weir books.

Way to go!

Good job, Tania! You came thisclose to winning (as you clearly knew more than the others about Henry's wives).
Well, if it's any consolation, you did better than I did from my couch. ;)

I hope you all were entertained. I will never forget the difference between Anne of Cleves and Catherine Parr. Sigh...

Trebek is actually pretty funny. The Coriolis answer, I knew it and centrifugal came out of my mouth.

I am so bummed i missed it...but am looking for it to download so i can watch it...and Dead Kings Wives? I totally would have gotten it wrong.

Janiece said...

I just watched it (on TiVo). You did great! And I thought you were very composed.

On the centrifugal/coriolis question, after centrifugal came out of your mouth, my Smart Boy looked at me and said, "she knew that wasn't right."

So you're a smart cookie with a couple of butterflies in your tummy.

I'm done mixing metaphors for the evening...

Oh Ma Gawrsh. I missed you. This was my chance to see the real you, foot box and all. Way to go.

Thanks for the link!

Most Excellent!
I'll watch tonight!

Yay!

I wonder how it comes out?

Woo Woo!
I got to watch yet. yeah YouTube....and Yeah Tania!

You would have kicked my butt....but i would have gotten all of the Canadian Province questions right.

I live a 1/2 hr drive away from the question the southern most point in Canada. It is Point Pelee...and it is one of our fave places to visit in the summer and fall.

I have now watched Tania's Jeopardy appearance. Impressive as hell.

1. You know at least a couple of things I've never heard of.

2. "Royal Wives"? I knew there was no chance I'd know the answer. I suck at the Royals categories.

Can you guys hear the thinking music in the studio during final Jeopardy?
